Denial of service via global buffer overflow
Published Aug 16, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
OTFCC 0.10.4 contains an out-of-bounds write that allows remote attackers to interrupt service via a crafted OpenType font. The otfccdump executable at /release-x64/otfccdump+0x718693 overruns global memory while parsing attacker-supplied font data. Exploitation requires a victim or automated service to process the crafted font; the documented consequence is availability loss, with no evidence of data disclosure or modification.
