Process crash via out-of-bounds heap write
Published Aug 16, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Heap-buffer overflow in OTFCC 0.10.4 allows attackers to crash otfccdump by causing it to process a crafted font file. At otfccdump offset 0x6e41b0, processing the malformed input writes one byte immediately beyond a calloc-backed heap region. Execution of otfccdump against attacker-supplied font data is required; the demonstrated consequence is process termination, not code execution.
