Crash via malformed font heap-buffer overflow
Published Aug 16, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Heap-buffer overflow in OTFCC otfccdump 0.10.4 allows remote attackers to crash the utility via a crafted OpenType font. The published report identifies only the faulting otfccdump executable offset, 0x6171b2, and does not disclose the parser routine or unchecked operation that overruns the heap allocation. Exploitation requires otfccdump to process an attacker-supplied font and is bounded to a crash in the published assessment, with no reported data disclosure or modification.
