Crash via out-of-bounds read in font parser
Published Aug 16, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Heap-buffer overflow in OTFCC 0.10.4 allows remote attackers to crash otfccdump by inducing processing of a crafted font file. The otfccdump font parser reads one byte immediately beyond a 920-byte heap allocation while processing the supplied file. Exploitation requires a user or downstream workflow to process the supplied font, and the demonstrated consequence is a crash rather than code execution.
