Process crash via malformed OpenType font parsing
Published Aug 16, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Heap-buffer overflow in OTFCC otfccdump 0.10.4 allows attackers to crash the utility by supplying a crafted OpenType font. The public record identifies the failing release-x64/otfccdump offset as 0x6b05aa but does not disclose the source function or unchecked memory operation. Processing an attacker-supplied font is required, and the documented consequence is a process crash rather than data disclosure or modification.
