Crash via malformed OpenType font parsing
Published Aug 16, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Heap-buffer overflow in OTFCC 0.10.4 allows remote attackers to crash otfccdump by supplying a crafted OpenType font file. The public record names only the faulting otfccdump offset; it does not identify the parser routine, malformed font structure, or erroneous write. A user must run otfccdump on the file; the published assessment limits the demonstrated consequence to a process crash.
