Service crash via malformed OpenType font parsing
Published Aug 16, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Heap-buffer overflow in OTFCC 0.10.4 allows attackers to crash otfccdump by opening a crafted OpenType font file. The public report shows otfccdump writing beyond a heap buffer while parsing the supplied font, but it identifies only a binary offset rather than the faulty source operation. Exploitation requires the utility to process the crafted file and interrupts only that process; no code execution is established.
