CVE-2022-35401Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Administrative access via reusable brute-forceable short token

Published Jan 10, 2023 · Updated Mar 5, 2025

Authentication bypass in ASUS RT-AX82U 3.0.0.4.386_49674-ge182230 allows remote attackers to obtain full administrative access. The get_IFTTTTtoken.cgi path accepts a 255-value shortToken, while gen_IFTTTTtoken compares its age using persistent boot-relative uptime values that become valid again after a reboot. The router must previously have generated an Alexa or IFTTT access code; local-network access suffices, while Internet access additionally requires WAN HTTPS administration.
