Spreadsheet formula execution via unneutralized CSV exports
Published Jan 6, 2023 · Updated Apr 9, 2025
CSV injection in IBM Maximo Asset Management and Maximo Manage allows remote authenticated users to place formulas in CSV exports. The affected releases are 7.6.1.1, 7.6.1.2, 7.6.1.3, 8.3, and 8.4; IBM has not disclosed which export function fails to neutralize formula-leading fields. Exploitation requires an authorized export workflow and a recipient who opens the file in a formula-processing spreadsheet, where the formula runs in that recipient's context.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
