Unauthenticated memory-resource exhaustion
Published Aug 4, 2022 · Updated Sep 17, 2024
Resource exhaustion in affected F5 BIG-IP 14.1.x, 15.1.x, and 16.1.x releases allows remote attackers to increase memory use. With an HTTP2 profile configured on a virtual server, undisclosed traffic drives uncontrolled memory-resource consumption. No authentication or user interaction is required, and F5 has not disclosed the triggering traffic pattern or whether resource pressure culminates in a hang, crash, or restart.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=14.1.x <14.1.5
- Affected versionversion=15.1.x <15.1.6.1
