CVE-2022-35234

Sensitive memory disclosure via unchecked buffer bounds

Published Jul 29, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Out-of-bounds read in Trend Micro Security (Consumer) 2022 17.7.1383 and earlier allows local users to disclose sensitive process memory. The User Mode Hooking Monitor Engine insufficiently validates user-supplied data before reading past the end of an allocated buffer. Exploitation requires low-privileged code execution on Windows; the read exposes adjacent memory, can crash the machine, and can support a separate SYSTEM-level exploit chain.
