Service interruption via unchecked packet-origin parameter length
Published Aug 2, 2022 · Updated Sep 16, 2024
Heap overflow in the Windows NHI Health Insurance Web Service Component allows local users to interrupt the service. The component fails to validate the packet-origin parameter length before processing it, permitting an out-of-bounds heap write. Exploitation requires general-user access from the LAN, and the resulting outage persists until the service is restarted.
