Crash via inconsistent DWARF name table counts

Reachable assertion in Binutils readelf 2.38.50 allows context-dependent attackers to crash the process via a crafted DWARF file. In display_debug_names, inconsistent .debug_names counts reach an assertion that requires name_count to equal used buckets plus hash clashes instead of treating corrupt DWARF data as an error. A user must invoke readelf on attacker-controlled input; exploitation aborts that readelf process without affecting confidentiality or integrity.
