CVE-2022-35171

Application crash via malformed JPEG 2000 file

Published Jul 12, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Improper input validation in SAP 3D Visual Enterprise Viewer 9.0 allows attackers to crash the application via a crafted JPEG 2000 file. SAP has not published which JPEG 2000 parser routine or file field is validated incorrectly before the Viewer processes it. A user must open an untrusted .jp2 or jp2k.x3d file; successful exploitation interrupts only that Viewer session until the application is restarted.
