CVE-2022-35167Public exploit

SYSTEM privilege escalation via writable registry paths

Published Aug 19, 2022 · Updated Jul 9, 2026

Incorrect registry permissions in Printix Cloud Print Management 1.3.1149.0 for Windows allow local users to gain SYSTEM privileges. The client grants regular users write access to ProgramDir and DataDir under HKLM, allowing those paths to be redirected to attacker-controlled storage. After the service restarts, it loads a modifiable PrintixServiceTask.xml and executes its command as SYSTEM; the permissions also expose other users' access tokens.
