Browser script execution via unfiltered preview parameters
Published Aug 17, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Cross-site scripting in kkFileView 4.1.0 allows remote attackers to execute script in a viewer's browser via a crafted preview request. The OnlinePreviewController decodes the user-controlled urls and currentUrl parameters, places them in the preview model, and outputs them without filtering special characters. A viewer must open the crafted /picturesPreview request; the script then runs in the application's origin and can access browser data available to that origin.
