Unauthenticated crash via malformed Search parameter
Published Aug 4, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Denial of service in Raneto 0.17.0 allows remote attackers to crash the Node.js application through a crafted Search parameter. The search route inadequately filters query text before passing it to searchHandler and does not contain the resulting error, terminating the service. No authentication or user interaction is required, and exploitation interrupts the knowledge-base service without reported data disclosure or modification.
