Process crash via out-of-bounds font checksum read
Published Aug 16, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Out-of-bounds read in SWFTools commit 772e55a2 allows local users to crash pdf2swf by processing a crafted PDF file. FoFiTrueType::computeTableChecksum reads invalid memory while writeTTF handles embedded TrueType font data from the PDF. User interaction is required to process the file, and published evidence establishes a process crash without confidentiality or integrity impact.
