Local crash via invalid graphics-line dereference
Published Sep 23, 2022 · Updated May 22, 2025
Out-of-bounds memory access in SWFTools commit 772e55a2 allows local users to crash pdf2swf by processing a crafted PDF file. During PDF rendering, convert_gfxline in lib/gfxpoly/convert.c dereferences an invalid graphics-line address derived from the file. Exploitation requires a local user to run pdf2swf on attacker-supplied content; published evidence demonstrates a process abort, not code execution.
