Process crash via malformed OpenType font parsing
Published Sep 19, 2022 · Updated May 29, 2025
Heap buffer overflow in OTFCC commit 617837b allows context-dependent attackers to crash otfccdump with a crafted OpenType font. Public reports identify only the otfccdump binary offset and do not disclose which parser routine performs the out-of-bounds write or which font field triggers it. A user or consuming application must submit the file; successful triggering interrupts that otfccdump process without reported data disclosure or modification.
