Process crash via crafted font parsing
Published Oct 14, 2022 · Updated May 15, 2025
Heap buffer overflow in OTFCC otfccdump 0.10.4 and earlier allows context-dependent attackers to crash the process via a crafted font file. At otfccdump+0x6171b2, font parsing writes beyond an allocated heap buffer, but public records do not identify the parser function or unchecked length operation. Exploitation requires a user or consuming workflow to process the crafted OpenType file, and the published consequence is a service-interrupting crash.
