Utility crash via crafted font processing
Published Sep 22, 2022 · Updated May 27, 2025
An out-of-bounds write in OTFCC otfccdump commit 617837b allows context-dependent attackers to crash the utility with a crafted font. The public record identifies an otfccdump binary offset but does not disclose the source function or malformed field that drives the invalid write. Processing the attacker-supplied font is required, and the demonstrated consequence is termination of the otfccdump process.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
