Stored script execution via unsanitized leave reason
Published Oct 14, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored cross-site scripting in Oretnom23 Human Resource Management System 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to run JavaScript via a leave reason. The Leave Apply form stores the Reason value without neutralizing script markup, and the Application view renders it so the payload executes. A normal user must sign in and submit a crafted reason; execution requires another user to open the stored application, exposing that user’s browser context to attacker-controlled script.
