Code execution via malicious dependency installation
Published Jul 22, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Code execution backdoor in eziod before 0.0.2 allows attackers to execute code when the package installs a malicious dependency. The package declares a malicious dependency named request, but the public report does not disclose its executing file, function, or command-handling operation. Reachability requires installation of eziod 0.0.1 from a mirror retaining the removed dependency; resulting code runs with the installing process's privileges.
