Stored script execution via unsanitized timeline location
Published Jul 25, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored XSS in OpenTeknik Open Source Social Network 6.3 LTS allows remote authenticated users to run script via a timeline location. The Users Timeline wall-post action stores the location field without neutralizing HTML event handlers, which execute when the resulting timeline entry is rendered. An account is required to submit the post, and a viewer must render it; successful exploitation runs script in that viewer's browser context.
