Remote code execution via unsanitized client IP substitution
Published Jul 8, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Argument injection in Webswing before 22.1.3 allows remote attackers to execute code through a crafted X-Forwarded-For header. The ${clientIp} substitution reads the client-controlled header without sanitization and splits its value into multiple application startup arguments. Only installations that reference ${clientIp} in webswing.config are exposed; injected arguments produce remote code execution in some configurations.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
