Unauthenticated superuser access via spoofed Host header
Published Jul 25, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Authentication bypass in FileWave MDM before 14.6.3 and 14.7.x before 14.7.2 allows remote attackers to obtain super_user access. AppTokenMiddleware treats a client-supplied Host header of localhost as proof that a request is local and assigns super_user privileges when the shared scheduler secret is presented. Internet reachability is sufficient; the resulting account can read managed-device data and deploy packages or remote-control commands.
