Root code execution via unsecured service path
Published Jul 18, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Privilege escalation in Parallels Access 6.5.4 (39316) Agent allows local users to execute arbitrary code as root. The Parallels Service executes files from an unsecured location, allowing a low-privileged user to place attacker-controlled code in its execution path. Local low-privileged code execution is required; successful exploitation grants root-level control of the host.
