CVE-2022-34882Network attack vector

Credential disclosure via password-bearing SRM error logs

Published Sep 6, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Information exposure in Hitachi RAID Manager Storage Replication Adapter allows remote authenticated users to read SSH passwords from SRM logs. When SRM processes unsupported characters in registered RAID Manager server, username, or password values, an error path records the supplied password in archived vmware-dr log files. An attacker needs authenticated access to SRM and access to its archived logs; exposure is limited to authentication information recorded there.
