CVE-2022-34866

LocalSystem command execution via insufficient IPC validation

Published Jul 20, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Improper input validation in Passage Drive 1.4.0 through 1.5.1.0 allows local users to execute OS commands with LocalSystem privileges. The public advisory identifies interprocess communication as the locus but does not disclose which IPC endpoint accepts insufficiently verified command data. Running a malicious program on the Windows host is required; Passage Drive for Box 1.0.0 is also affected, and successful exploitation grants full system control.
