Hard-coded credentials in Buffalo network-device firmware allow network-adjacent attackers to alter device configuration settings. Buffalo identifies the defect as an embedded credential but does not disclose which management service accepts it or how attackers obtain it. Adjacent-network access is normally required; Internet-side attacks are possible when remote access is enabled, and the reported consequence is limited to configuration changes.
