Arbitrary file reads via unrestricted Log Service
Published Aug 24, 2022 · Updated Sep 17, 2024
Relative path traversal in ABB Ability zenon 8.20 and earlier allows remote attackers to read arbitrary files through the Log Service. The service accepts client connections through its private protocol and fails to confine file access to log files, while also accepting attacker-supplied log messages. No authentication is required, but the attacker must reach the adjacent-network service; exploitation exposes runtime activity and arbitrary local files and permits log flooding.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
