File disclosure and service interruption via XML entities
Published Oct 27, 2023 · Updated Sep 9, 2024
XML external entity injection in VERMEG AgileReporter 21.3 allows remote authenticated users to read server files or interrupt service. The Config Package Binding Manage Execution Groups importer expands attacker-declared external entities in uploaded XML, returning local file contents. Administrative access is required; a crafted entity can expose files readable by the service, while an XML bomb can leave the web application unavailable for hours.
