Remote file overwrite via weak permissions
Published Nov 8, 2022 · Updated May 1, 2025
Incorrect default permissions in NEC Corporation EXPRESSCLUSTER X 5.0 and earlier allow remote unauthenticated attackers to overwrite files. The installation directory grants excessive write access, allowing crafted network requests to replace existing files and potentially execute arbitrary code. No authentication is required, so internet- or intranet-reachable management services are exposed to full confidentiality, integrity, and availability impact.
