CVE-2022-34821

Elevated code execution via OpenVPN configuration injection

Published Jul 12, 2022 · Updated Apr 21, 2025

Code injection in Siemens industrial networking devices allows attackers to execute arbitrary code with elevated privileges. The SRCS VPN feature accepts injected code in specific OpenVPN configuration options without adequately controlling executable content. The feature is disabled by default, and exploitation requires high privileges, adjacent-network access, and a crafted configuration.
