CVE-2022-34820

Elevated code execution via unescaped authentication fields

Published Jul 12, 2022 · Updated Apr 21, 2025

Command injection in Siemens SIMATIC and SIPLUS CP firmware allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary code with elevated privileges. During authentication, affected firmware passes improperly escaped user-provided fields into commands, enabling custom-command injection. Exploitation requires high privileges, adjacent-network access, and the nondefault SRCS VPN feature; successful attacks execute code on the device.
