CVE-2022-34819Network attack vector

Remote code execution via malformed SRCS VPN messages

Published Jul 12, 2022 · Updated Apr 21, 2025

Heap overflow in Siemens SIMATIC and SIPLUS CP firmware allows remote attackers to execute code through malformed SRCS VPN messages. The enabled SRCS VPN parser insufficiently validates fields in messages received on UDP port 5243 before copying them into heap storage. The feature is disabled by default; exposure requires its use, and successful exploitation runs code in the device context.
