Authenticated XPath expression manipulation via missing permission checks
Published Jun 30, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Missing authorization in Jenkins XPath Configuration Viewer 1.1.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to create and delete XPath expressions. Several plugin HTTP endpoints omit permission checks, allowing users with Overall/Read permission to invoke expression-management operations that should be restricted. The issue changes stored XPath definitions but does not itself grant arbitrary code execution; exploitation requires a Jenkins account with the stated permission.
