XPath expression changes via state-changing GET requests
Published Jun 30, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
CSRF in Jenkins XPath Configuration Viewer Plugin 1.1.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to create or delete XPath expressions. Several expression-management HTTP endpoints accept state-changing GET requests without requiring POST, so a victim's browser can invoke them cross-origin. The victim must be signed in with Overall/Read permission; the consequence is limited to creating or deleting stored XPath expressions.
