Credential disclosure via plaintext configuration password
Published Jun 30, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Plaintext storage of a password in Jenkins Deployment Dashboard Plugin 1.0.10 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to obtain the credential via controller filesystem access. The plugin writes the password unencrypted to de.codecentric.jenkins.dashboard.DashboardView.xml in the Jenkins controller global configuration. Exploitation requires permission to read the controller filesystem; the resulting impact is disclosure of that password without documented integrity or availability impact.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
