Stored XSS via unescaped agent-name tooltips
Published Jun 30, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored XSS in Jenkins Matrix Reloaded Plugin 1.1.3 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute script via agent names. The plugin inserts an agent name into a matrix-build tooltip without escaping it for HTML, so a stored payload executes when the tooltip is rendered. Agent/Configure permission is required to plant the payload, and a victim must view the affected tooltip; the script then runs in the victim's Jenkins browser context.
