CVE-2022-34760Network attack vector

Webserver hang via infinite cookie-processing loop

Published Jul 13, 2022 · Updated Sep 17, 2024

Infinite-loop handling in Schneider Electric Modicon communication modules allows remote attackers to hang the webserver via crafted cookies. The embedded webserver mishandles cookie input by entering a loop whose exit condition cannot be reached; Schneider Electric has not disclosed a narrower function or parser locus. No authentication or user interaction is required, and the reported consequence is loss of the modules' web service rather than data access or modification.
