CVE-2022-34740

NFC card operation disruption via buffer overflow

Published Jul 11, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Buffer overflow in the NFC module in Huawei HarmonyOS 2.0 and EMUI 11.0.0, 11.0.1, and 12.0.0 allows attackers to disrupt NFC card operations. The public advisories do not identify the affected routine, the input that exceeds its buffer, or the memory-copy operation that lacks a size check. Exploitation requires NFC proximity and causes exceptions during NFC card registration, deletion, and activation; no code execution or broader device compromise is reported.
