Unauthenticated code execution via crafted IKEv1 packet
Published Sep 13, 2022 · Updated Mar 11, 2025
Remote code execution in Microsoft Windows IKE Protocol Extensions allows remote attackers to execute code via a crafted IKEv1 packet. Microsoft has not published the faulty function or packet-field operation; public guidance identifies only the processing of a specially crafted IKEv1 packet. Exploitation requires IPsec to be enabled, and IKEv2 is unaffected; successful exploitation executes code on the target Windows host.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
