Kerberos key disclosure via unchecked encryption type
Published Aug 9, 2022 · Updated May 29, 2025
Information disclosure in Microsoft Windows Defender Credential Guard allows local users to read Kerberos-protected key material. KerbIumGetNtlmSupplementalCredential fails to verify the requested encryption-key type before returning a supplemental credential, exposing key bytes across the isolated trust boundary. Exploitation requires low-privileged local code execution and targeted data held by Credential Guard; integrity and availability are unaffected.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
