Improper exception handling in OpenHW Group CVA6 allows local users to interrupt execution through an illegal virtual address. The RTL classifies a noncanonical address used by a load, store, or instruction fetch as an access fault instead of the required page fault, directing execution to a different trap vector. A low-privileged local execution context must issue the malformed memory operation; published evidence establishes control-flow divergence and availability impact, not data disclosure or modification.
