Spreadsheet formula execution via unescaped exported fields
Published Nov 7, 2022 · Updated May 1, 2025
CSV injection in WPManageNinja Fluent Forms before 4.3.13 allows remote attackers to plant spreadsheet formulas through public form fields. The entry exporter writes submitted field values into CSV cells without neutralizing formula-leading characters such as an equals sign. Exploitation requires an administrator to export the affected entry and open it in a spreadsheet application that evaluates formulas, where the injected formula executes with that user's access.
