Heap buffer overflow in Phoenix Contact PC Worx, PC Worx Express, and Config+ 1.89 and earlier allows attackers to compromise workstations. Insufficient validation while parsing a manipulated BCP bus configuration file corrupts heap memory and triggers an invalid read. Exploitation requires access to an original BCP file, replacement on the programming workstation, and user interaction; consequences include a crash or exposure and modification of workstation data.
