Unauthenticated device compromise via EditvsList stack overflow
Published Jul 20, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stack overflow in H3C Magic R200 firmware R200V200R004L02 allows remote attackers to compromise the device via a crafted HTTP request. The /dotrace.asp handler processes an oversized attacker-controlled EditvsList value without bounding it to the destination stack buffer. The management interface must be network-reachable; no authentication or user interaction is required, and successful exploitation can interrupt the router or corrupt execution.
