Unauthenticated code execution via undersized stack buffer
Published Jul 20, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stack-based buffer overflow in H3C Magic R200 firmware R200V200R004L02 allows remote attackers to execute code via a crafted HTTP request. The ipqos_lanip_editlist handler passes a delimited param value to getElement, which can copy up to 64 bytes into the 20-byte V6 stack buffer. The public proof of concept reaches /goform/aspForm without authentication, and the researcher reports stable root-shell execution.
